Life in Kirkwood

Betty Joan Vasco, a former Solanco teacher, will present a program about life in and around the village of Kirkwood. The program will be given at 1:30 p.m. at the Southern Lancaster County Historical Society meeting. The meeting will be held at the society's archives, 1932 Robert Fulton Highway, Peach Bottom. The meeting is open to the public.

Bingo on Oct. 19
The Southern End Community Association will host Bingo at the SECA Building, Park Ave., Quarryville. Doors open at 6 p.m.; games start at 7 p.m.

10 to 11 a.m., 123…Play with Me. This is a parent-child workshop for children ages birth through three and their caregivers. Older siblings are welcome.
1:30 p.m., Book Club. The library's book club will discuss The Jungle by Upton Sinclair. The public is invited to attend.
3 to 5 p.m., Teen Open House for Teen Read Week. The open house is for teens interested in volunteering at the library or joining a teen club. The open house is for ages 13 through 19.
4:30 to 5:15 p.m., Study Buddies. Children ages five through 10 who need guided help in spelling or reading are invited to attend. Please bring the spelling or vocabulary list you need help with. The program is limited to eight participants a week. To guarantee a spot, register in advance.
6 to 7 p.m., Learn Spanish with Solanco High School Students. This workshop is limited to 20 participants; to guarantee a spot, please register in advance. The program is best for ages seven through 10.

10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., STEM Saturday - Robot Games. The games will help children learn problem-solving skills and learn basic coding and math techniques. The program is limited to 30 participants, so registration is suggested. The program is best for ages eight through 11.
1 to 4:30 p.m., Teen Dungeons & Dragons Club. The club is for ages 12 through 18.
Tuesday, October 16
10 to 11:30 a.m., Preschool Meet-Up. A casual, weekly meet-up for parents with preschool-age children. Best for children ages three through five and their parents/caregivers. Older and younger siblings welcome.
1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Robot Adventures Story Time. Join little robot Cubetto on a series of adventures around the globe. Best for ages four through seven with a caregiver.
