This year, organizers of Quarryville Fire Company's annual spring vendor and craft show are trying to attract more customers.
"We wanted to add more outdoors and sportsman-type stuff," said special division vice president Danielle Worrell. One of this year's new vendors is the national sporting goods chain Cabela's.
"We have a greater variety this year," Worrell said. "We want to include everybody."
The special division will sell baked goods, cookbooks, and tickets for Kreider's subs. Firefighters will be selling reflective green house number signs. There will also be at least three food trucks at the show.
Last year's show netted just over $2,900, all of which went to the fire company.
"We always try to beat last year's figures," said special division president Meghan Cross.
This will be the division's fourth spring show. The first year, members held the show in the fire station on E. State St. The following year, it moved to the Hoffman Building at the Solanco Fairgrounds. Last year, it needed two buildings at the fairgrounds.
"We could have used more space, but the other buildings were rented," Cross said. "Next year we'll have more room."
"We've already booked a third building for next year," Worrell said.
The show will be held at the Solanco Fairgrounds, S. Lime St., Quarryville, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 28.
"This is one of the main fundraisers for the special division," Cross said.
