The storm hit the Quarryville area and into Colerain, Drumore, East Drumore, Fulton, and Little Britain Townships.
At least one home, in the 1000 block of Stoney Hill Rd. in East Drumore, was hit by a falling tree. The tree punched a hole in the home's roof; no injuries were reported.
PPL's emergency call line would not give a restoration time for the power. By dawn, several PPL crews and a crew from Asplundh Tree Expert Company were working to remove the trees and restring downed power lines.
Traffic was restricted to one lane through the area as the crews worked to repair the damage.
Other trees were downed in the 900 block of Little Britain Rd. North, but no buildings or power lines were damaged in that incident.
The rainfall also pushed creeks, including the West Branch of the Octoraro Creek, up to near-flood stage.
