After operations were suspended at some of Cecil's Boys and Girls Club units in early April, the clubs are ready to open for summer.
Those who attend programs there, may attend New East.
The North East Club is at capacity for summer. Rising Sun is near capacity. There are openings at both New East and Elkton.
"We are glad they are coming back," said Kimberly Anders, Director of Operations for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cecil County.
Jeff Hill will lead the North East Club. Brittany Dotson is back directing the Elkton unit. Tedd Holbrook is the new director at Rising Sun. More staff members are being hired.
Joining the summer camp costs $75 per week, plus a $10 trip fee which covers the entire summer. Daily hours are 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Activities include movie day, educational programs, water fun, billiards, kickball, ping pong, foosball, basketball, STEM learning, Ripken Baseball camp, computer activities, and weekly field trips. The programs run through August 21. For more information call 410-398-5076.
Anders said that the summer enrollment figures have been encouraging. "There are a lot of changes. We are looking forward to having kids back in our clubs," said Anders.
