A retired professional indoor soccer player is now getting his kicks trying to revitalize Perryville's downtown.
Billy Nelson, who retired in 2011 after playing 10 seasons for the Baltimore Blast, started working in the town in June as the economic community development coordinator.
His job includes planning town events and working to bring businesses to town. Prior to working for the town, Nelson worked as a recruiter for a staffing agency. He's using his network in Perryville. "I'm reaching out to people I know who own restaurants and bars (trying to drum up interest in Perryville). I love it," said Nelson.
