Cecil County Family Support Services took advantage of the opportunity to educate the public about mediation services available to resolve conflicts before they reach a courtroom.
Family Support Services Coordinator Nolanda Kirby was outside of the Circuit Court building to answer questions and pamphlets were available.
Kirby said Family Support Services is starting a Civil Mediation Program. Training begins in January.
There is a fee for mediation services. In family law cases, the fee is $100 per hour to be shared by all parties. In other cases the fee depends on the type of mediation service needed. Some people may qualify for a fee reduction depending on income.
Anyone seeking referrals to mediation can call Kirby at 410-996-1157.
