As part of the annual school Spirit Week as a prelude to last week's homecoming, Elkton High students got the chance to be whatever they wanted for a day.
Koree Shay dressed as Tinkerbelle from Peter Pan, complete with facial glitter. Ty-tanisha Dennis dressed as a softball player. Sydney Hall was a Scottish princess, Savannah Montras chose to be Wonder Woman. Mandy Webb wore a trench coat and carried a magnifying glass as part of her interpretation of Sherlock Holmes. Cecil Jackson was Superman. Austin Jones was Batman. School guidance office staffers wore golden yellow capes. One staffer explained that is a symbol that they are heroes against bullying.
Lisa Bagatta, who teaches English and Mythology and serves as Elkton High's yearbook advisor, was dressed as a police officer. But her costume wasn't traditional. "It's kind of nerdy. I'm a British police officer from Dr. Who," said Bagatta.
