The people will decide if the Roadshow will go on.
After being cancelled in 2014, Elkton's Own Antique Roadshow is set for Saturday, February 21, from noon until 4 p.m. The event will be held at the Town of Elkton Social Hall second floor, 100 Railroad Avenue, Elkton.
For a fee of $5 per item, a local appraiser will tell you the value of what you have. The $5 per item fee goes to the Elkton Alliance and is used for programs that promote the town.
According to Jessica Price, administrative assistant at Elkton's Chamber/Alliance, this year will be a testing year to see if the event will be continued. Price said crowds have dwindled in recent years for the longstanding event. The attendance this year will be used to decide if the event will be held annually, every other year, or if it will be discontinued.
Even if you don't have anything you want to have appraised, you can still turn out to watch the event. There is always a small group of onlookers who like to watch the appraisers in action.
