Investigators from the Office of the State Fire Marshal remain on the scene of an early morning church fire at historic Baldwin United Methodist Church, Elk Mills.
No one was injured and the church was unoccupied. The fire went to two alarms before it was brought under control at 5:52 a.m.
Singerly Fire Company president Phil Scott said that for many years, members of the Baldwin UMC congregation served the meal at the fire company banquets. The fire company has offered the use of a fire station as a temporary location for the church to hold services.
