Jesse Richardson, Eleazar (E-Z) Owens, and Derek Leonard have only been playing music together for a month, but they are already doing big things.
The trio, a band known as Luxury Lennens, are balancing their studies, jobs, and passion for music and have been playing at local restaurants.
The name, Luxury Lennens, comes from a combination of the founder's last names.
Luxury Lennens plays both their original music plus cover songs from Guns n Roses, Jimmy Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Weezer, Sublime, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, and more.
When they were a duo, Leonard and Owens played at many bonfires. Now that they've become a trio, they have played at Triton Marina, Woody's, and The Wellwood.
They admit that it's hard to balance their schoolwork, jobs, and the band but said it's worth it. Leonard works at Woody's as a bus boy. Richardson works as a driver at Bella Pizza, Owens works at Sandy Cove ministries.
"We practice the day of the gig. The last gig, I had 50 minutes to get an assignment turned in. But I did it," said Owens.
The immediate goal for the members of the band is to play as much as they can. Longterm, they hope to play at Firefly Musical Festival, and arena venues.
"If we could make a living off playing music, that would be great," said Leonard.
"Music is my life," said Owens.
All three said their parents are supportive. But all the parents want them to focus on their education primarily, and have music as a back-up plan.
"We want to play more. We're willing to find a way. I will play music seven days a week if I can," said Leonard.
Coming up, the band will play at The Wellwood, Charlestown, at 6 p.m. on September 10. The are scheduled at Woody's, North East, on September 12 at 7 p.m.
E-Z's father, Aaron, heard them play, and was quick to sign on to manage the group.

"My goal is to get them exposed," said Aaron Owens.
