There is something for everyone at Cecil Parks and Recreation this summer.
There are programs for children, adults and everyone in between.
For the youngsters, children ages four and five, there is still space available in the second session of Safetyville which runs Monday through Thursdays July 9-19 at Elk Neck Elementary School. Children in that age group can learn about safety - water, traffic, bicycle, gun, electrical, poison control and more. These programs are taught by Cecil Sheriff's Deputies, special guests and volunteers. The program costs $42 per child. Enroll at Cecilrec.com.
Club Extreme is a day camp which will be held July 16-20 at Cecil Arena. For a fee of $100 for children ages 6-12, the children will learn a variety of sports. There will be kickball, Wiffle ball, dodgeball, water slide, Nerf wars and more. The camp is held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily. Those middle schoolers who want to play on the new turf field at Perryville High School will have a chance. July 23-27, a middle school soccer camp will be held from 5-8 p.m. Cost is $75 for the week. This program is open to boys and girls.
Adults who need some down time, can participate in drop in or pre-registration yoga. This program is held Monday and Thursday evenings at Cecil Community Center, Wilson Road, Rising Sun, from 7-8 p.m. Cost is $42 for eight sessions. Or $6 per session for drop ins. Those who attend are asked to bring a mat and water.
