There's a lot in Perryville's newly passed budget.
What isn't included is a tax hike.
Perryville's budget includes big plans for new buildings in the town. A municipal complex, which will include a town hall, police department, and little league field, is in the planning stages.
"It's still moving. It may not be moving as quickly as we'd like it to move," said Breder. It is likely that the police department's 8,500 square foot building will be constructed first. For the town hall, a needs assessment will have to be completed to determine how much space the new building will encompass. Another area where money will be spent in the new fiscal year, is the Perryville Community Park. New playground equipment is needed there. "The playground is about 20 years old. The town crews have kept it in good repair. It's obsolete and needs replaced," Breder said.
The town will gain $14,400 in annual revenue from a Verizon Wireless deal to use an existing tower on Cedar Corner Road.
