The six-year wait is almost over.
The new comfort station has been installed in Port Deposit's Marina Park.
Due to wet conditions during the move, the park area was significantly damaged. Those ruts will now have to be filled in.
But while the building is in place, town administrator Vicky Rinkerman said it won't be in use for at least another month. There is grading and stormwater work to do.
A contractor will also be selected to run the concession at the comfort station.
Mayor Wayne Tome, Sr., said he isn't planning a dedication ceremony for the comfort station. "I was thinking that we'd do it all at once - the gas house dedication and everything.
“We will celebrate the renaissance of the park," said Tome. "The town will be torn up for the next several months. After the shovels are out of the ground, we will celebrate. That's what I envision," said Tome.
He also said he will confer with the rest of the town board when making dedication plans.
