As Port Deposit heads into its tourist season, one of the town's busiest spots can't be used.
The wood deck area in Marina Park has been roped off with caution tape. "We're going to get it fixed. We haven't gotten estimates yet," said Mayor Wayne Tome.
In other business from Port Deposit:
• Town officials are looking at the possibility of expanding the Enterprise Zone designation to the Bainbridge property. Town administrator Vicky Rinkerman said that designation will make that property attractive to developers because they may qualify for Enterprise Zone tax credits.
"Business owners ask about that. That's another tool in the tool box to draw people here," said Rinkerman.
• Town officials will also discuss putting parts of Bainbridge under the Sustainable Communities designation.
That designation will make tax credits available for those who develop in historic area. "That would be another tool for grants, another avenue to get it started up there," said Rinkerman.
