Now through October 9, downtown business Your Personal Chef, is supporting the arts in Rising Sun with a sweet fundraiser. Anyone who calls and orders a homemade pumpkin or apple pie from the business between now and Friday, October 9, a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to the Rising Sun Arts Council.
That fundraiser helps support events such as this weekend's Town Hall Art Gallery Exhibit entitled "Fall Into Creativity".
On October 10 from 5-7 p.m., fall into Second Saturday in the Sun.
The works of three local artists will be showcased.
Eddie Yates is a local wood turner who creates wooden bowls, ornaments, and other works of art from roadside finds. Pam Tomlinson is a photographer who focuses on nature and capturing photos of animals in their natural environment. The works of photographer Rhonda Willien will also be displayed. Willien's work shows her passion for the beach and her love for her two children.
Florida basket weaver Georgia Cook will also have works on display during Fall into Creativity.
Those who want to catch up on local history, can check out the Rising Sun Historical Preservation Museum during Second Saturday in the Sun. The museum will be open to visitors on the third floor of town hall. T-shirts will also be available for $10. All are welcome to attend this free event. Refreshments will be provided by Martin's grocery store and Your Personal Chef.
