Students at Rising Sun High School will once again be taking their faith outside.
The second annual Fields of Faith is set for Wednesday, October 9 at 7 p.m. in the school stadium. This is a Fellowship of Christian Athletes sponsored event which is being organized by RSHS students Madison Gamble, Erin Harkey, and Justin Killough.
The third will be challenging other students to read the Bible and become followers of Christ.
"The goal is to have a student led event with student testimonies to reach out to others and spread the word of God," said Killough.
Last year's event at the school attracted nearly 200 students and adults. "We are hoping to exceed that number," said Killough.
Brett Rush, worship leader and pastor at Shiloh Tabernacle in Quarryville, Pennsylvania, has signed on to help lead the even.
There will also be worship music and free refreshments.
"We're hoping to reach out to both youth and adults and spread the word," said Killough, who will return as emcee of this event along with Martin Stillwell.
Killough, a lineman on the Rising Sun football team, is looking forward to the event. "It's nerve-wracking when you go up in front of all those people. But once you start talking, the message you are spreading is so important that you forget. The message you are spreading will affect all those people at some time in their lives. You are planting a seed," said Killough.
