If you can't beat em', join em'.
For the past few years, Cecil's Boys & Girls Clubs have had a plant sale to help them raise money. That sale was held in Colora and last year, was held the same day as a well established garden market.
This year, the club is joining forces with a long standing established sale.
This rain or shine event is being coordinated by Laurie Jones. "It's the only place to be for everything you might want for your gardening needs. The market is a great way to do all your Mother's Day and gardening shopping all in one place," said Jones.
More than 40 vendors will be selling all things related to gardening, including plants of all kinds, garden accents, hanging baskets, fruit trees, fresh produce, and food from local restaurants. Tours of the historic church will be conducted both days. A silent auction will also be held on both Friday and Saturday. There will be live music on Saturday. This year, the Boys and Girls Clubs will sell native plants during the St. Mary Anne's Sale. The proceeds from the sales will help fund youth scholarships for the Summer Fun Club.
Native plants grow wild, use less water, eliminate the need for toxic chemicals, provide food and habitat for wildlife and are low maintenance.
