Participants are invited to wear costumes while participating in the Inaugural 5K Halloween Fun Run & Walk to benefit the Rising Sun High School boys and girls lacrosse programs.
Funds generated will be used to purchase equipment and new uniforms for the Tigers' lacrosse teams.
"It will be a family-friendly, fun event," said Pam Kennedy. "It won't be chip-timed and we will play music over the public address system."
Organizers are planning to honor the best-dressed runner.
Local fitness experts will lead all runners in a warm-up prior to the start.
"This is the first time for an event like this and we're hoping the community will come out and support us," Kennedy said. "The $20 fee goes directly back to the kids."
